Tolerancemanagement 3.0

Tolerancemanagement is a Methodology to drive industrial needs such as:
- Robust Design
- Design for 6 Sigma
- Systems Engineering.
Coming up in the early 1900´s it became evident -end of the 20th century-driven by 2-D/3-D Simulation tools to support the product development and Production planning process. Required input for the simulation created the need for a standard communication platform: GD&T, a symbol based technical language. Trends in the industry changed the scope of Tolerancemanagement from“Dimensional Management” to “Concept verification” - including physical effects. In combination with other simulation techniques and tools, Tolerancesimulation Becomes part of an overall optimization strategy to support “Systems Engineering”. The presentation gives an overview of the history, present and future concepts in Tolerancemanagement to support future trends and needs in the industry.
