Cost Reduction using virtual Optimization for Automotive component

The work-flow of the design development for a structural automotive component is presented.
The target production process is the high pressure die casting in cold chamber of an aluminum alloy.

The virtual check of the initial design hypothesis suggested by the Customer pointed out some weakness of the production process.
The designers proposed a new casting system and a prints increase.

The simulation approach permitted an effective description of the work-flow and a rapid development of the design.

Finally the real production shows immediate high quality of the castings and low costs of the process with the complete satisfaction of the Customer.
